KLK PHOTOGRAPHY: Photography by Kristi Klemens

Thank you for exploring this piece of me...

This is my dream, my passion, my gift. Every day I continue to be amazed at the opportunities that we have today, as photographers - the ability to capture love, a moment, a story, a spirit and a life within a single photograph. I believe that I have been blessed with this gift and I want to continue to share it with others so that they may have a gift of their own!

As a newlywed, I completely understand how important, and how difficult, it is to trust someone with this responsibility and I also know how much time is put into the planning of your wedding day; from the moment you choose the location to say "I do", to trying on the dress of your dreams, and of course, all the planning in between. I pay attention to the small things, which will later remind you of each moment that made your day so special and so unique; including all the details, the look in your eyes as you look at each other for the first time as husband and wife, as well as the relationships being created between your two unique families.

I focus on bringing out the personality of those being photographed. Releasing one's self, while making the sessions fun and comfortable. On the wedding day, I perform in a non-intrusive manner, allowing me to document many emotional, meaningful and real moments. It is so important to allow time for timeless yet creative portraiture. In order to create most of what you see on my website portfolio, I would direct you in a natural way to create a beautiful image that could possibly sum up the beauty of your wedding day in a single shot. My goal is to capture your love for each other along with your inner beauty. I want to tell your story, and with all of this, I hope to create a unique piece of art within each image.

Thank you for taking the time to learn a little about me...I look forward to meeting you!

Puerto Vallarta Wedding at Casa Garza Blanca, Private Villa & Beach

Vanessa wore a gorgeous Vera Wang lace dress and sash…

ADORABLE Robert Rodriguez one shoulder bridesmaid gowns, the expecting sister/made of honor was slightly different:LOVED mama’s dress!!!

A little about the Bride and Groom and “Our Wedding Day”…

Jason and I went to Elementary school together but we lost touch after grade 8.  He found me on Facebook years later, asked me out for coffee and we have been inseparable ever since.

We had a modern, elegant and romantic wedding at a beach front villa with 100 of our closet family and friends.   I used Preston Bailey’s book as most of my inspiration for our colour pallet, table decorations, flowers, tree table card display, etc.   We used silver linens with bright punches of fuschia, purple and green for our floral arrangements.  We liked the idea of having bright colours to compliment the lush Mexican scenery.  Our bridesmaid wore watermelon one shoulder dresses and the groomsmen wore beige suits with pink ties.

There were some elements at our wedding that had a special meaning to us.  Jason wore my late grandfather’s cufflinks, we used Jason’s late grandfather’s Tallis at the top of our Chuppah, and I had Swarovski crystal butterflies to put in my bouquet in honour of my aunt who passed away.  I wore a heart necklace that was given to me from my parents.  It is a family tradition that they started when my sister was married.

We had a few details from our wedding that were unique.  The wedding favors were personalized candies that were from Australia which we bottled in old fashion styled candy jars.   For our Guest Sign-In book, guests were able to capture and print memorable pictures with a sticker Polaroid Pogo camera and put them with a personal greeting in our book.   We wanted a Menu that was unique and different so with the help of Plush catering we were able to create a menu that was accommodating to our guest but have a special twist on it. Combining Mexican and Asian flavours, our food satisfied everyone’s pallets and our guests still rave about it today.   After our cake cutting, we had huge fireworks display over the ocean finished off with a giant firework heart that said “V and J”.  It was the most amazing thing we, along with our guests had ever seen.

Overall, our wedding was more than we could have ever imagined.  It was such a magical night and we had a great time celebrating with our close family and friends in such a beautiful location.

FOR JAPAN WITH LOVE: How can I help?

I don’t need to tell you how many innocent lives were taken in the earthquake and devastating tsunami and how many people and families are still missing, you hear it on the news everyday. It’s heartbreaking and we can’t ignore it. I felt like I needed to post what we can do to lend a hand today, to a fellow nation as this could have happened to any of us. We find ourselves being very fortunate as these people have lost literally EVERYTHING. Giving anything at this time can help & this is a great place to start…

Danielle & Ben’s Wedding: Puerto Vallarta, Mexico!

There are so many special couples that come in and out of my life each week, each month, each year. I continue to feel so blessed by the relationships I develop with so many amazing people. Danielle & Ben have not only been wonderful clients, but have become lifelong friends. The BEST. Danielle and I held hands (with countless emails across the states) through the planning process as our weddings were just weeks apart from each other.  We helped each other with accessories and working out, to everything in between! Their wedding day still brings tears of joy to my eyes, because I am so so happy for this beautiful couple and I hope to always share in their journey ahead!
